Michael J. Sanchez is a Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) with one year of experience specializing in integrated behavioral health, grief & loss, anxiety, PTSD, and depression. Additionally, Michael has an accumulated seven years of experience working for state and non-profit human service agencies in Oregon. Michael treats patients between the ages of 18 to 80, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Michael has experience serving individuals, couples, and groups in outpatient settings where he uses a trauma-informed and strength-based approach based on non-judgment. Michael provides supportive psychotherapy that is culturally responsive to BIPOC and LGBTQIA2SAA populations. As a bicultural Latinx behavioral health provider, Michael understands the complexities of identity and is passionate about providing services to individuals that experience adversity as a result of their identities. Michael enjoys spending time adventuring the outdoors, traveling, and experiencing life through the lens of his culture. Michael received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and a Master of Social Work from Portland State University.
