Ruth Bichsel, Ph.D., MAC

Dr. Ruth Bichsel is a licensed psychologist with more than 18 years of experience providing psychological assessment and intervention. Dr. Bichsel is also a nationally certified Master’s Addiction Counselor with more than 30 years of experience providing substance use treatment.

Dr. Bichsel’s clinical work includes psychotherapy and consultation services provided within a multicultural biopsychosocial model. She enjoys assisting children, teenagers, adults, and couples. Her primary areas of focus include issues related to Anxiety, Bipolar, Depression, Psychosis, Substance Use, and Trauma. She enjoys working on issues related to identity including chronic pain and illness, ethnicity, gender orientation, and sexual orientation. Dr. Bichsel is available for comprehensive psychological assessments for diagnosis and treatment planning and pre-medical intervention assessments, including transgender evaluations.

In 2014, Dr. Bichsel was awarded the Oregon Psychological Association's Diversity Award. She is a past president of the Lane County Psychologist's Association and a current member of the Oregon Psychology Association's Diversity Committee.
